The quick answer

Samsung Fridge Repairs in Parramatta, Explained

Most Samsung fridge faults come down to a handful of parts: a fan, a defrost heater or sensor, a door seal, a control board or, less often, the compressor. Most Samsung repairs here cost $150 to $450 including parts. We work on all Samsung fridge models, from older top mounts to French door, side-by-side and Family Hub fridges.

One thing to know first: we are an independent repairer, not a Samsung service centre. If your fridge is still under warranty, contact Samsung or your retailer first. If it isn't, or you can't wait, we're ready.

What we fix

Common Samsung Fridge Problems We Repair

These are the faults we see most on Samsung fridges and freezers. If yours isn't listed, book anyway. A technician can usually find it quickly.

  • Samsung fridge not cooling

The fridge is warm but the compressor runs. Often a dirty condenser, a failed fan or a sealed-system fault. See our fridge not cooling repair page.

  • Freezer cold, fridge warm

Cold air isn't reaching the fresh-food section. Think iced evaporator, fan, damper or defrost parts.

  • Ice and frost build-up

Frost on the back wall or a block of ice in the freezer. Usually the defrost heater, sensor or drain.

  • Ice maker not working

No ice, small ice or a frozen dispenser. We test the water line, inlet valve and ice maker module.

  • Water leaking inside or out

Puddles under the fridge or water in the crisper are most often a frozen or blocked defrost drain.

  • Loud or clicking noise

Fan motors, a tired start relay or ice touching a fan blade. Worth fixing before it fails.

  • Error codes and blank display

Codes like 22E, 21E or 88 88, a dead panel or a fridge stuck in demo mode.

  • Tripping the power

A fridge that trips the switch can have a heater or compressor fault. Switch it off and call us.

  • Family Hub and Bespoke faults

Touchscreen, Wi-Fi and panel errors alongside the usual cooling parts. We check the fridge side first.

Models

Samsung French Door, Side-by-Side and Family Hub Fridge Repair

Samsung builds a lot of different fridges, and each layout fails in slightly different ways. For Samsung side-by-side fridge repair, the usual suspect is ice around the freezer fan. French door models rely on several fans and dampers to share cold air. Family Hub models add a screen and Wi-Fi on top of the same cooling system.

We repair all of them, including older units that are out of warranty. Having your model number ready helps us bring the right parts. It is on a label inside the fridge compartment, and on most current models it starts with RF, RS, RT or RB.

Error codes

Samsung Fridge Error Codes and What to Try

A code is a clue, not a diagnosis. Here are the ones we get asked about most. Samsung can change what a code means between model generations, so check your manual too.

CodeUsually meansWhat you can try
21E (or 21C)Freezer fan problemIce around the fan or a failed motor is common. Check the door seals, then defrost. If it returns, book a repair.
22E (or 22C)Fridge fan problemOften a fan fault or a door that isn't closing. Unplug for a few hours with the doors open. If it comes back, call us.
5E (or 5C)Defrost sensor problemThe sensor can't read the evaporator temperature. Usually needs a technician to test and replace.
88 88Power or communication errorA power reset usually clears it. Switch off at the wall for 1 minute, then turn on.
OFF OFF / OF OFCooling Off (demo) modeNot a fault. Hold the top two left-hand buttons for 5 to 8 seconds until it chimes.
Ice Off blinkingIce bucket not seatedTake the bucket out and push it back in until it clicks.

Before you reset anything: write the code down. Repeated resets can hide a fault from the technician. If a fan or defrost code keeps coming back, it needs a repair, not another reset.

Why it happens

Samsung Fridge Not Cooling? Start Here

A Samsung fridge makes its cold in the freezer and moves it to the fridge with a fan. That is why the freezer can be fine while the fridge is warm. When ice builds up on the evaporator, it blocks that airflow. The cause is usually a defrost heater, a defrost sensor or a blocked drain.

Before you call, try these quick checks: make sure the doors close fully, pull the fridge a few centimetres from the wall, and check that vents inside aren't blocked by food. If the fridge is still warm after that, book a repair. For a longer list of causes, see our guide to why a fridge stops cooling.

Warm food? Act quickly

Food that has been above 5°C for more than 4 hours should be thrown out. Keep the doors shut and move meat and dairy into a cooler with ice. If you need us after hours, see emergency fridge repair.

Compressor

Samsung Inverter Compressor and Sealed System Faults

Many Samsung fridges use an inverter compressor, and Samsung has offered extended compressor warranties on some models. Before you pay for a compressor repair, check your purchase date, the model number and Samsung's current warranty terms. If cover is still on, it may be cheaper to claim than to pay us.

If you are out of cover, we'll test the compressor, the inverter board and the start components, because a failed board or relay is often mistaken for a dead compressor and costs far less. Gas leaks are fixed first and then the gas is recharged. Our fridge regas and gas leak repair page explains how.

Honest advice

Is It Worth Repairing a Samsung Fridge?

Usually, yes. A good rule is to repair when the fix costs less than half the price of a comparable new fridge and the fridge is under about 10 years old. A new fan, heater or seal on a fridge in good shape is almost always worth it. A leaking sealed system on a 15-year-old fridge often is not, and we'll tell you so before you spend anything.

Samsung Fridge Repair Parramatta FAQs

Where can I get Samsung fridge repair in Parramatta?

Right here. Our licensed technicians are based locally and repair Samsung fridges across Parramatta and nearby suburbs. We are an independent repairer, not a Samsung service centre. Book online and we confirm a time, usually the same day if you book early.

How much does Samsung fridge repair cost in Parramatta?

Most Samsung fridge repairs cost $150 to $450 including parts. A call-out is usually $60 to $200. Control boards cost $250 to $600 and compressors $450 to $1,100. You get a fixed quote before we start, and that price is the one you pay.

Why is my Samsung fridge not cooling but the freezer is cold?

Cold air is made in the freezer and shared with the fridge through a fan and a damper. If the freezer is cold and the fridge is warm, the usual causes are an iced-up evaporator, a failed fan, a stuck damper or a bad defrost heater or sensor.

What does the 22E error code mean on a Samsung fridge?

On most models, 22E or 22C points to the fridge fan, and 21E points to the freezer fan. Ice build-up is a common reason. Meanings vary between models, so write the code down, check the manual and book a technician if it returns.

Should I reset my Samsung fridge when it shows an error?

A power reset is fine for codes like 88 88, which Samsung treats as a power or communication error. Switch it off at the wall for about a minute and turn it back on. For fan or defrost codes, don't keep resetting it. Note the code and call us.

Why is my Samsung ice maker not working?

Common causes are a frozen water line, a blocked or failed inlet valve, a dirty filter, a faulty ice maker module or a freezer that isn't cold enough. Check the ice bucket sits properly first. If ice still isn't coming, we can test the valve and module.

Are you a Samsung authorised service centre?

No. We are an independent repairer and we are not affiliated with Samsung. If your fridge is still under warranty, contact Samsung or your retailer first. If the warranty has ended or you want a faster visit, we are happy to help.

Is it worth repairing an older Samsung fridge?

Often yes. If the repair costs less than half the price of a similar new fridge and the fridge is under about 10 years old, repairing usually makes sense. Sealed-system faults on old fridges can tip the balance, and we will tell you plainly.

Do you repair Samsung French door, side-by-side and Family Hub fridges?

Yes. We repair French door, side-by-side, top mount, bottom mount and multi-door Samsung fridges, as well as Bespoke and Family Hub models. Have your model number ready when you book. It is on a label inside the fridge.
