What We Repair

Commercial Fridges and Refrigeration Equipment We Repair

Commercial refrigeration works harder than a home fridge, so it fails in different ways. Here is what we work on most.

Display fridges and glass-door merchandisers

Cafe, deli and convenience-store cabinets where a warm shelf means lost sales. Fans, lights, door seals and thermostats are the usual faults.

Bar fridges and drink chillers

Pubs, bars and clubs run these hard. Dust on the condenser and worn seals cause most breakdowns.

Under-bench fridges and freezers

Tight kitchen spaces trap heat. We clean the condenser, replace fans and fix thermostats and door seals.

Upright fridges and freezers

Stainless two-door units for kitchens and stockrooms: fans, defrost systems, controllers and compressors. See our commercial freezer repair page.

Prep, sandwich and pizza benches

Cold-well units that keep ingredients safe. Airflow, fans and temperature sensors are the usual suspects.

Coolrooms and freezer rooms

Walk-in rooms have their own faults and larger gas charges. See our coolroom repair page.

Common Faults

Common Commercial Fridge Faults and What Causes Them

A warm fridge is a symptom. This table shows what we usually find behind it.

What you seeLikely causeWhat we do
Warm inside, compressor running Dirty or blocked condenser, failed condenser fan, low gas Clean the coil, replace the fan, find and fix any leak
Warm inside, compressor silent Start relay, overload, controller or compressor fault Test the electrics first, then the compressor
Cold at first, then warms up Iced evaporator, defrost heater, timer or sensor fault Repair the defrost system and clear the drain
Ice build-up around the evaporator Defrost fault, worn door seal or a door left ajar Fix the defrost parts and replace the seal
Water pooling under the unit Blocked drain or failed drain heater Clear and heat the drain, check the tray
Runs non-stop, barely cold Dirty condenser, worn seals, low gas or a failing fan Clean, reseal and test the sealed system
Loud buzzing or rattling Fan motor failing or a loose panel Replace the fan motor and secure the unit
Display shows an error or blank Controller or sensor fault Test and replace the controller or probe

If the fault points to the gas system, we find the leak first and recharge after, never a top-up on its own. Our fridge regas and gas leak repair page explains how that works.

When It Fails

Commercial Fridge Not Cooling? What to Do in the First Hour

Food safety rules say cold food should be held at 5°C or below. These steps protect your stock while you wait for us.

Do this now

  • Keep the doors shut. Every opening lets cold out.
  • Check the temperature with a probe thermometer, not the display.
  • Move meat, dairy, seafood and prepared food into a working fridge or a cooler with ice first.
  • Look for a tripped breaker, a unit that has been unplugged or a door left open.
  • Write down any error code and the brand and model, then tell us when you book.

Do not do this

  • Do not keep resetting the unit. It can hide the fault from the technician.
  • Do not chip ice off the evaporator with a tool. A punctured coil is an expensive repair.
  • Do not top up gas yourself. Handling refrigerant needs an ARC licence.
  • If you smell burning or hear sparking, switch it off at the wall and call us.

Food that has sat above 5°C for more than 4 hours should be thrown out. If it is after hours, go straight to emergency fridge repair.

Who We Work For

Commercial Refrigeration Repair for Parramatta Businesses

Different kitchens and shops have different pressure points. Here is how we help each.

Restaurants and kitchens

A fridge failure mid-service costs a night of trade. We aim to be on site fast and leave the kitchen clean.

Cafes and bakeries

Milk fridges, display cabinets and cold wells that cannot afford to drift above 5°C.

Pubs, bars and hotels

Bar fridges, keg rooms and drink chillers working long hours.

Butchers and delis

Strict temperature needs and heavy loads of stock sitting in the cabinet.

Supermarkets and convenience stores

Multi-deck displays, drink fridges and back-of-house freezers.

Medical, pharmacy and aged care

Vaccine and medication fridges and kitchen units where steady temperature matters.

Prevent Breakdowns

Commercial Refrigeration Maintenance

Most commercial fridge breakdowns are avoidable. A short, regular visit costs far less than a failed unit and a bin full of stock.

What a maintenance visit covers

  • Condenser coil cleaning, the biggest cause of overheating
  • Door seal and hinge checks
  • Fan motor and defrost system checks
  • Temperature and thermostat checks against what the display says
  • Drain and drip tray checks

Easy wins you can do yourself

  • Leave a gap around the unit so air can move.
  • Do not stack stock against the evaporator or air vents.
  • Wipe door seals and make sure doors close fully.
  • Vacuum dust from accessible condenser grilles with the power off.

Want regular visits for your venue? Tell us what you run when you book and we will quote it. For basic coil cleaning, our fridge maintenance tips show how.
